The Albany - Delaware Township Fire Department is committed to ensuring the safety of our community. We conduct annual fire safety inspections of businesses within our response area to verify compliance with current safety protocols. These inspections are performed by the Fire Chief throughout the year.
All new businesses entering our jurisdiction receive an initial fire safety inspection, followed by annual inspections thereafter.
Collaboration and Record Keeping
The Fire Chief works closely with the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office to ensure consistent application of fire safety standards. All inspection records are maintained by the Albany - Delaware Township Fire Department.

Initial Fire Reports: These are available directly from our department. A $5.00 report fee is payable to the Albany Municipal Office.
State Fire Reports: These must be obtained through the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office. Please contact them directly for these reports.
Pool Fill Service - 2025: Important Information
The Albany - Delaware Township Fire Department is pleased to offer pool fill services to residents within our primary response area from April 28th, 2025, to August 1st, 2025, subject to the conditions below:
Service Area Details:
Town of Albany
Delaware Township (Does not Include all of Delaware County, only Delaware Township)
Portions of Niles Township
Portions of Greene Township (Randolph County)
Portions of Richland Township (Jay County)
Please note: Service is limited to areas within our established response boundaries. If you are unsure if you are within our service area, please contact us before submitting a request.
Fees and Payment:
The fee is $150.00 per load (approximately 2,100 gallons).
Payment must be made in CASH at the time of the fill. We are unable to accept checks or credit/debit cards.
Scheduling and Availability:
Pool fills are scheduled in the order requests are received.
Scheduling is dependent on firefighter availability, emergency response demands, and weather conditions.
We will make every effort to honor scheduled fill times, but please understand that emergency calls take priority. We will contact you as soon as possible if rescheduling is necessary.
Liability:
By requesting a pool fill, you acknowledge and agree that the Albany - Delaware Township Fire Department is not liable for any damage to your pool or surrounding property that may occur during the filling process.
